Techniques will be focused on assessing the inner unit muscles of the low back (diaphragm, transverse abdominus, multifidi and pelvic floor) for decreased control, decreased endurance and imbalances. The therapist will learn how to identify patients with motor control deficits that will benefit from a stability exercise program. This
course is designed to challenge the therapist's clinical reasoning skills, and the knowledge gained will be easy for the
therapist to apply to clinical practice right away.

Massage therapists would rather provide care than notate their finidings and treatment plans. Yet with growing regulation and a real need to serve patients better, we need good records to provide good care.

Outline:

Discuss the dimensions of pain, and why simply asking about "pain" is not enough;

Examine challenges and special considerations when taking a case history;

Identify yellow and red flags in the intake;

Easily document postural distortions, range-of-motion and palpatory findings;

Review CMTO guidelines for record-keeping;

Create better treatment plans;

Clarify the symptom picture through the use of pain and disbility questionnaires;

Track the downward spiral of soft-tissue dysfunctions.

Better Business Agreements - 5/16/2010 - Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy - Cambridge Campus

Better Business Agreements
EVENT DATE: Sunday, May 16, 2010
TIME:8:30:00 AM to 5:00:00 PM
VENUE:Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy - Cambridge Campus
SPEAKER(s):Donald Dillon, RMT
REGISTRATION LINK: https://secure.omta.com/default.asp?id=1050&event_id=58

Bad agreements cost time and money. The therapist who associates in an existing practice invests a great deal of time, energy and money in getting established. It's a challenge to shift the practice elsewhere when it's discovered that the agreement is no longer ideal. With the right reference points, it's possible to create a better business agreement.

Outline:

Steps to increase your “Financial Intelligence”;

The true cost of running your business;

Is your business sustainable? Measure these three factors;

Three strategies for clinic managers who discover their agreements are not financially sustainable;

Discover a model that can help you maximize your facilities and generate more passive income;

Find out why straight percentages don't work!;

Looking to associate? How to assess your options;

Discuss a four-point method to negotiate a better agreement;

*Registration fee includes: Light breakfast, Lunch and session materials

More information and registration options...
